There have been a lot of people making mention of a few troublesome issues relating to installation and game updates that we are working on addressing for a PC patch. To explain what these are:

3GB file download:
This large file size for the Day 1 patch is due to the way our new system delivers its patches. The console and PC versions are in parity this year, so they therefore got the same Day 1 patch. On Xbox 360, however, there is a ‘differential patching’ system that basically only updates the files that have changed in a patch. We don’t have the same ability for PC right now and, as a result, the patch on Xbox 360 is 4MB but on PC the same patch comes out at ~3GB. We (the dev team) have been working hard to solve this and without getting too technical, we have found a way to instruct the system to ignore larger files if they have not been adjusted for a patch. We are working on delivering a fix for this in a patch.

The constant 42mb file update:
Users have reported constantly being asked to update the game before booting it and then downloading a file that is ~42MB. This can be annoying particularly where the user may have a slower connection speed.We have isolated why this is occurring and again, we are working on delivering this in a patch.
